ANNOUNCEMENT (1/29/2014): I am happy to announce that we have three new coaches joining the ASA Coaching Staff:

Brandon Bittner will be coaching the U18 boys. Brandon's playing career consisted of being an all-area player while attending Beall High School. During his time, his team lost only 1 regular season game in 4 years. He captained the 2003 team which finished with a 14-0 record and only allowed 2 goals all season. He played 1 year for Potomac State before a career ending leg injury. This will be Brandon's first coaching experience but has a strong playing background and a passion for the game. As a coach, Brandon hopes to help increase the individual skill level, knowledge of the game, and mentality of every player to better prepare them for the possibility of playing at the next level.

Chris "Whitey" Hoppert will be coaching the U14 boys. Whitey is a 1990 graduate from Mt.Savage High School. He was a memeber of the 1987 State Championship soccer team at Mt.Savage. Whitey was a WMIL All-Area team member from 1989-1990. His coaching experience consists of coaching the 2012 JCP JV Bishop Walsh soccer team to a Championship with a 15-0 record. He has been coaching the past 5 years with the area youth. His goal is to create a positive and fun environment that encourages players to learn and develop by building individual skills, team work, confidence, and character.

Tom Hipp will be coaching the U12 Boys. Tom will be coaching the team with the hope of gathering local talent to compete at a high level in the tournaments ASA attends. His goal is to put together athletes who are looking to continue playing soccer through their high school days and hopefully college. He hopes to combine players of the same or higher skill level from different area's (schools) than they usually play with. Tom looks forward to the opportunity to take on this new venture and continuing to work and develop the local soccer talent. He has been coaching the past 6 years:
U10/U12 Dark Knights travel team Head Coach...2011-present
WMS JCP Varsity Assistant Coach...2011-2013
WMS JCP JV Head Coach...2012-present
WMS JCP JV Assistant Coach...2009-2011
U8, U10, U12, U14 YMCA Indoor Soccer Head Coach...2008-present
Head Coach of 2013 JCP JV Champions
Assistant Coach of 2012 JCP Varsity Champions
Head Coach of 2012 U10 Hershey Cup Champions

UPDATE (11/17/2013): We will soon be posting info here about the upcoming 2014 season for ASA. We hope to expand to more teams on top of the ones we offered last year (U18 girls, U18 boys, U16 boys). We want to host a free skills clinic & play day which will serve as a way to poll the interest we have and at what ages. Please keep checking back for the info & forms. We will also do our best to update our Facebook page the best we can. It will also be in the paper shortly and emails will be sent to last season's players. You can reach any of the Board members for more info which can be found on our 'Contact Us' page. Thanks!
